Assigning CC's
To use ASSIGN to program CC devices:-

Set [MODE] to 'MONO 1'

Press and hold the [ASSIGN] button for approximately 2 seconds, the MIDI light will come on solid for a moment and then the LED for [CC 1] will come on indicating it is ready to receive a MIDI message

Release the [ASSIGN] button, the [MIDI] LED will pulse every couple of seconds to indicate it is waiting

Send a MIDI CC command from your controller for the respective device

the MIDI light will light solid for a moment, and then flash twice

the LED for [CC 2] will now come on and will then wait for the second MIDI CC (CC2) to be assigned

steps (4) to (6) will repeat for the remaining [CC x].
If you don’t send anything for a while, or you complete programming of all 8 [CC x], the [MIDI] LED unit will flash 5 times and then come ON steady for a second before exiting the [ASSIGN] mode and returning to normal operational mode.
You have 4 assignable MIDI CCs, by default they are as follows:-
Calibrating VCO's
To aid with calibration of VCO's connected to the ED147 the following proceedure should be followed.

Set [MIDI ADDRESS] to '0'

Set the [MODE] to 'MONO 2'

Press and hold the [ASSIGN] button for approximately 2 seconds until the [MIDI] LED comes on and the LEDs for all 4 [GATE] come on, release the [ASSIGN] button

The [NOTE] output voltage for all 4 voices can now be set to a value between 0V and 10V in 1V increments by changing the [MIDI ADDRESS] from '0' to '10' (A)

You can now adjust the VCOs for correct tuning and check the tracking across a 10-octave range

Change the [MODE] setting to cancel this function.
PANIC Mode
Should, for any reason, the ED147 become confused and 1 or more GATES become stuck ON, then the following steps will reset the ED147 and turn all GATES OFF. This will also clear the PolyDAC Cyclic Algorithm allowing the ED147 to start from fresh

Set [MODE] to 'POLY'

Press and hold the [ASSIGN] button until the [MIDI] LED starts flashing

Release the [ASSIGN] button.
MONO/POLY MODEs
POLY Mode
The current firmware for the ED147 uses a Regular Cyclic Mode for polyphonic operation.
In this mode, incoming MIDI notes are assigned to the next free voice (even if it is the same note played repeatedly).
There are 2 options available in POLY Mode:-

'IGNORE' - If all voices are assigned (4 notes being played together) then any new notes willbe ignored

'STEAL' - in this mode the ED147 will 'steal' the first slot originally assigned and replace that note witht he new note.
MONO 1 Mode
All 4 voices are 'locked together' and will respond to the same MIDI NOTE and MIDI Channel
MONO 2 Mode
Each voice is assigned to a different MIDI Channel. Voice 1 is assigned to the address selected with the [MIDI ADDRESS] switch. Voice 2 will be assigned to the next MIDI Channel ([MIDI ADDRESS] + 1), Voice 3 to the next MIDI Channel ([MIDI ADDRESS] + 2) and Voice 4 to the next MIDI Channel ([MIDI ADDRESS] + 3) and so on.
This mode allows for up to 8 seperate devices to be connected to the ED147, each with a different signal path through your system.
External PITCHBEND and MODULATION WHEEL connections
