The ED147 is an 8-channel version of the ED1707 PolyDAC(X).

The ED147 firmware uses a 'Regular Cyclic' Mode for MIDI Note assignment. Incoming MIDI notes are assigned to the next free voice (even if it is the same note played repeatedly). So, each time you play a note it will step through and assign channels '1' then '2' then '3' through to '84' then back to '1' again as you play. If you hold a note, new notes will be assigned to the next voice in that order the that they are free. If all voices are already assigned to held notes and 'POLY' is set to 'STEAL', then the next note will use the lowest voice held.

The ED147 also includes support for MIDI Transport using the MIDI Clock START, STOP and CONTINUE messages. On receipt of these messages the ED147 will output a pulse on the relevant output. In addition, the [RUNNING] output will go HI on receipt of a START or CONTINUE message and go LO on receipt of a STOP message.

 

 

 

NB: If MIDI CLOCK support is not required on the MIDI chain to which the ED147 is connected, it is recommended that the MIDI CLOCK message be turned OFF. Some controllers will allow the START/STOP/CONTINUE messages to remain active and if available, that option should be selected.

(Poly mode only)

This allows you to select what happens to incoming notes when you have 4 held down.
Poly1 new notes are ignored, Poly 2 the oldest note is replaced
ASSIGN

This allows you to assign MIDI CC’s to the 4 ‘CV’ outputs.

It will also allow the user to 'reset' the POLY mode and can also be used to aid calibration of connected VCOs.
