The CGS419 is a complete redesign of the CGS19 and comprises two independent tone generators each with their own envelope generator. These 2 tones are available as separate outputs each providing an envelope controlled single tone.

A 3rd output provides further processing of these 2 tones to create a chime sound. To generate an optimum chime sound requires that the 2 tone generators are set to two frequencies that have a ratio of around 1:1.4 to 1:1.6. The 3 outputs are inter-dependent so if you are setting up for an optimum chime sound, you may not find the two separate tones of much use. Similarly, if you are using the two tones as envelope controlled tones then you may find the chime sound is discordant.

Decay times for the envelope generators are adjustable, and the pitches of the two tone generators are also adjustable.
