The Panther Construct-A-Rack
EuroRack System

The Construct-A-Rack family provides you with all the basic parts you require to construct your own Euro-rack.

The depth of the standard unit is 160mm providing ample clearance for the deepest of modules
(make sure you allow clearance for any distribution boards and/or power supplies).
220mm deep Side Panels are also available on email request.

The tables below list all the parts required to build a fully configured sub-rack.
Optional parts may be omitted to reduce unit cost but may affect your build options. For example,
omitting the Back Panels will mean that distribution boards and/or power supplies may need to be
mounted on the inside back face of your enclosure.
Bolt quantities are for the fully configured systems.

Shallow Subracks - 3U/6U**/9U**

This rendition shows the 3U Filler Ears and Side Panel Spacers being used to build a 60mm deep 3U Sub-rack.
The stepped Side Panel Spacers have 4.2mm holes that allow the assembly to be fixed to the inside of your
case - so no ugly holes or plugs to ruin your high-quality timber case!

Our sub-racks require an M3 x 8mm to M3 x 10mm fixing screw to hold your modules in place
We also have custom thumbscrews available for securing modules in place and are available
for both our M3 and M2.5 Tapped Strips

(*) The standard method for retaining modules is via a tapped strip that runs inside the front rails. These strips are tapped at 1HP (5.08mm) intervals with either M3 or M2.5 holes. This rigid structure dictates module placement which, for standard Euro modules such as Doepfer A-100 or Panther series, is not a problem but when mixing modules from some other houses could cause some minor alignment problems.
For those situations or for users who prefer to have a more flexible system we now offer M3 square nuts that
allow you to position them anywhere along the rail length and thus accomodate any usual sized modules.

Here is a picture of a 6U sub-rack fitted with our All-In-One power supply module.
Cable access to the inside of the sub-rack is via a grommeted hole.
Inside we have fitted two CGS763 Power Supply Delay modules
(the one on the left is a fully configured version while the one on the right is the Lite variant).
The right-hand module could be a fully configured CGS763 providing a different power-ON delay time or a
CGS73 Eurorack Distribution module offering a further 12 delayed outputs.

An additional set of power boards can be fitted in the top section if required.

WANT TO BUILD A CUSTOM SUBRACK?

The Construct-A-Rack family of parts also lets you build your own low-cost rack systems

We can supply the rails and tapped strips in shorter lengths for those of you wishing to
create your own mini Subracks. Lengths can be from 10HP to 167HP in multiples of 1HP.
All rails have two 5mm tapped threads at each end providing for optimal torsional rigidity.

Using standard EuroCards or EuroModules?

Our Eurocard Conversion Kit is availble for users who wish to mount standard Euro-sized boards (100mm x 160mm) and/or modules. The kit provides a rear mounting add-on that allows a backplane to be installed
or for direct mounting of DIN connectors.
Card Guides are supplied separately and need to be ordered in multiples of 2.
NOTE: This kit is only suitable for our 220mm deep subracks and our 85HP Rails.
