The Panther Series
ED103 - MIDI2SDS(X)

This re-released version of the MIDI-2-SDS retains the same features as the original Version 2 model:-

  • converts MIDI signals into SDS triggers, you can use it to fire other drum machines
  • the unit has 8 trigger outputs, each of which is velocity sensitive
  • control of the 'gate' time is via an onboard preset (~1mS to ~132mS),
  • it has a 'learn' mode, which lets you assign different notes to different triggers
  • it has 8 LEDs, so you can see which channel is being triggered and which channel you are 'teaching'.

In addition it includes the following features:

  • Replaces the MAX529 with the MAX528
  • Adjustable upper and lower trigger output voltages. Upper voltage adjustable from 5V to 10V
  • Dipswitch option #1 to invert all trigger pulses (positive-to-negative, typically +5V to 0V)
  • Dipswitch #2 option to select GATE mode

Current release of the software (V3.9)

A low-cost version of this module is available for the budget conscious. The module is configured as per the original MIDI2SDS design from Paul Maddox and thus has a more limited and fixed output range which is typically from 0V to around 3V

13HP
+12V @ 10mA, -12V @ 5mA
