Hardware Kits

Selection of some of the components found in our Hardware Kits

CGS - Ken Stone Kits

Component Kits contain all board mounted components (resistors, capacitors, semiconductors etc)
PCB Component Kits add an original Ken Stone PCB to the Component Kit
Hardware Kits include all off-board components (switches, pots and jack sockets) based on a fully constructed module using all options
Schematics are examples of a fully configured module as per Ken's notes. The additional hardware components in these schematics are reflected in the HARDWARE KIT for that module
Front Panel Designer (FPD ) files can be found on the Modular Synth Panels group. These are NOT available from Elby Designs.
Jack sockets are 6.35mm Switched Mono sockets. 3.5mm available on request
Pots are standard Alpha 16mm carbon pots. Alpha 24mm, Spectrol/Vishay 248 or OMEG plastic pots (OW16ECO family) available on request
All Component Kits include a 4-way 0.156" Crimp Header and Socket where the board allows for it. A low-cost crimp tool is available.
Where a module requires LED's, the Hardware Kit will contain 5mm Chrome Bezel RED LEDs (Green or Blue available on request)
Toggle switches are high-quality panel mount with chrome-plated toggle
Rotary switches are of a sealed design and are break-before-make
Hardware Kits come with 27mm MOTM/MOOG-style knobs where required. Other designs are available on request

Oakley Modular Kits

Component Kits contain all board mounted components (resistors, capacitors, semiconductors etc) plus all off-board components (switches, pots, jack sockets and knobs etc) but excludes the pcb, front panel and wires.
Jack sockets are Switchcraft 112APC 6.35mm Mono-Switched sockets where PCB mounting is required otherwise Switchcraft 112A.
Pots are Vishay/Spectrol 248 pots except Little-Lag which uses OMEG PC16ECO
All crimp connectors are Molex Crimp types (Header and Socket). A low-cost crimp tool is available.
Where a module requires LED's, the Hardware Kit will contain 5mm LED's with suitable Lens-Mounts
Toggle switches are high-quality panel mount with a flattened chrome-plated toggle
Rotary switches are of a sealed design and are break-before-make
Knobs are 27mm MOTM/MOOG-style
The special brackets for mounting the Omeg/Spectrol pots are available with the PCBs direct from Oakley Sounds

Panther Kits

Component Kits contain all board mounted components (resistors, capacitors, semiconductors etc), PCB, plus all off-board components (switches, pots, jack sockets and knobs etc) including the front panel
PCB Sets are also available containing a complete set of Panther boards as required to complete the module.
Panther Front Panels are also available separately for constructors who wish to retrofit an original CGS module in to a Eurorack system. Please note that you may need to make allowance for the pcbs which are larger than the equivalent Panther version
Jack sockets are Cliff S6BB/PC 3.5mm Mono-Switched sockets
Pots are from the Alpha 16mm series and incorporate an 18T metric spline fitting for knobs
Where a module requires LED's, the Hardware Kit will contain 3mm flat-top Red LED's
Toggle switches are high-quality right-angle pcb-mount
Knobs are 14mm all Black PVC body and cap with a whilte marker line. Alternatively a colour cap with grey body may be ordered (Red, Yellow, Green, Grey or Blue)
